Your Research Assignment

Research term paper: Both term paper options involve an annotated bibliography of journal articles and books with a literature search as the first part of the paper. It is to be a 10-page paper with references and quotations in APA style. Your bibliography should be current (dates of publication within the last 5 to 10 years).

Option #1: Choose a mindfulness technique 

Option #2: Choose a behavior of yours related to health you would like to change

Submitted Topics:

1. meditation/ mindfulness practice: 8 students--with goal of decreasing road rage, decreasing nervous behaviors such as scratching the neck, eye twitches, breathing difficulty, improving athletic performance, decreasing stress, or decreasing social anxiety

2. increasing exercise: 4  students

3. increasing yoga practice: 3 students--w goal of decreasing stress

4. increasing the number of meals consumed per day (from zero or 1) & increasing color variety of foods consumed to gain more nutrition: 1 student

5. increasing consumption of fruits and vegetables: 1 student

6.decreasing amount of soda consumer: 1 student

7. decreasing consumption of carbonated beverages: 1 student

8. decreasing cracking of finger/ toe/ neck joints: 2 students

9.getting out of bed earlier: 1 student
10.leaving for appointments/ class 20 minutes earlier to avoid being consistently late

11. decreasing cursing: 1 student
